Lourens Boot

Co-founder, CEO & CIO

Lourens obtained his MSc-degree in Offshore Engineering cum laude at Delft University of Technology. After an international career in the oil and gas industry, he decided to quit and dedicate his career solely to CleanTech. He became Head of Technology and Project Manager of The Ocean Cleanup. He helped grow the company from 8 to 50 people and fundamentally changed the concept to a mobile version. He then worked as Interim CEO at Seabin Project, before founding Sponsh while travelling through Europe with his family. Lourens loves surfing. 

Lourens’ mission is to solve environmental challenges using nature-inspired technology. As positive change starts with yourself, he starts with his surroundings.
